Franco’s current owner Domenico Tanzarella operated one of the first soft ice cream vans in Bedford in the 1960s. He bought ice cream from Franco's until, in 1970, he bought the company. Since then it has gone from strength to strength. 13 years ago Franco's moved to state of the art premises on a modern industrial estate to the west of Bedford.

The move allows Franco's, which already has a strong reputation for the quality of its products and service, to develop more exciting new products in addition to the current award-winning range which includes old favourites such as Rocket Lolly, Orange Refresher, Strawberry Split along with a number of new varieties (see products page for full range).

With its own delivery service, Franco's has the ability to deliver nationwide and now has customers as far north as Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle and Glasgow, and as far west as Bristol.

In 1995 Franco's moved to state of the art premises on a modern industrial estate to the west of Bedford, just a few miles from the M1 Motorway.

Franco's has made a major investment in new equipment with the installation of a Catta 27 Eskimoline linear automatic moulding machine for stick ice creams. Cattabriga claims that this machine represents its most advanced development in stick ice cream industrial lines. While there are several Catta 27 machines in use, the Franco installation is the first one to be 'in-line'.
